Lol look at Cantonese ultranationalist spreading their propaganda in the comment section Bitch please, the area where Cantonese is spoken today wasn't even considered Chinese properly until the Tang dynasty (It's the reason why Chinatowns, founded by people from southern China, are called 唐人街 and not 漢人街, because traditionally people speaking southern dialects refer to themselves as 唐人 more than 漢人) These southern Chinese people trying to claim that they are the "real" Chinese and that their dialects (Cantonese, Hokkien, Hakka, etc) is the "real" Chinese language are no different from Koreans who try to claim that Confucius was a Korean Cringey, smh
