  1. Music from the 50s and 60s often sounds objectively terrible technology-wise, which was a huge turnoff when i was a teen. When you are used to 'wall of sound', over dubs, and the lush reverbs of the 70s and beyond its hard to appreciate 'live' takes where it's all midrange and everything is bleeding into each other. Also, the highly distorted electric guitar was a new sound that was interesting and versatile. We haven't had that in quite some time. Arguably autotune?
