Average salary in 1998: $27,686 Median: $38,885
Average salary in 2024: $62,027 Median: $59,228
(these are salaries, not net worth, so calm down about 'investors and billionaires')
Average salary is higher when adjusted for inflation. Minimum wage... not so much. You know why? Entry level jobs have never been easier i.e. less valuable, and the pay reflects that. In 1998 you had to know the town to deliver pizza, make change to be a cashier or risk your safety in a factory. Now a 15-year-old kid w/no experience can do them almost equally well.
If you're willing to earn it, there's never been more opportunity than now. If you want to minimum merit your way through life, you're gonna have a bad time.
