  1. I promise your screed of OO indirection is a complete mess to anyone who hasn't read at least a half dozen books on OO, design patterns, etc. And if you have, its suddenly 'elegant'. Pipe down FP zealots, i can say the same about hofs and monads. And yet both agree the lowly procedural programmer is the real hillbilly here :)

  2. Corporate coding 101: don't level up the devs, dumb down the code. Better devs will leave and then we have to hire expensive ones to replace them.
