  1. If we look at 'top' CEOs making top dollar, they really do have a 1000% impact compared to decades ago, if not more. They used to affect their local economy, or maybe even the 'tri-state area', but are now at a global scale for almost everything. My ISP went from someone tacking up some coax on existing telephone poles in the 90s to literal space programs. Is that not worth a few extra bucks? Do you really think those 'greedy' shareholders want to pay the 'greedy' CEOs that much? Why do you suppose they do it? Why aren't companies with low paid CEOs usurping the markets w/their competitive advantage of paying the workers more? Be honest. At the same time, entry level has never been safer or easier i.e. less valuable; cashiers can't even make change anymore and you can deliver food w/o knowing the language of your locale, never mind the geography. You are genuinely less valuable to the company precisely due to their investments in productivity. They will get that RoI, not you.
