  1. Amazing advice. This is the reality. Part of winning the game is picking the right certs and knowledge. Choose wisely because its non-trivial, which is exactly why it's well compensated! Doesn't matter if i like java, the market has spoken. Never in my life have I wanted to to ops/infra but the writing is on the wall, so I'm an "aws architect", i.e. I memorized their glossy brochure.
