  1. Judging from the color of the fluid there, looks like lack of maintenance, strange because the filter was changed. Perhaps they used the wrong fluid afterwards, like putting Toyota WS instead of the CVTF FE fluid.

  2. I have a Corolla 2010 with CVT. No issues, just change the fluid every 50k. Maintenance is not expensive mind you.

  3.  @donniev8181  Not true, you can get CVT parts from Toyota. These things get rebuilt here in in Southeast Asia.
