  1. Let me take a stab from business point of view. Adding this feature to the CAN is money, these problems are edge cases (car theft aside), the manufacturer at the end of the day will pass the R&D costs and parts to the consumer. The general consumer will not really get that and won't be happy. I am talking other people not viewing CarCareNut, we are different breed. I am also from the tech industry, even the computer motherboard doesn't have diagnostics for the power capacitors.
