  4. If you can DIY, start checking for simple stuff. Is the engine air filter dirty? Is the throttle body dirty ? Tires inflated as per spec ? Oil changed recently ? If all is well with those, I would next ask to scan for codes. You can buy scanners for cheap nowadays, at least gives you a general idea on which section of the car to focus in. My gut feeling me tells me it's in the fuel injectors.

  7. Same, been through some who will give you diagnosis in less than 10 seconds. I just give them a dark stare, and leave.
