Veritasium your video opens with the statement that the average human life lasted 30 years. 9/10 people that hear that will falsely assume that means that people used to live to the age of 30 and then drop dead - this is not your fault, but it is still true and is a problem. coupled with the fact that the video is titled, "how long will you live?", that problem becomes even more pronounced, and it does start to become your "fault". my comment was an attempt to draw attention to this.
the 80 year life expectancy is based on the current mortality rates, which babies born today are obviously not going to be subject to, because as i said, life expectancy is going to continue to increase. life expectancy for babies born today is clearly NOT, i repeat, NOT 80 years. if the video were not titled "how long will you live?", this would perhaps not need to be pointed out, but it definitely does, given that is the case.

inverse cherry picking is what you are doing in order to accuse me of cherry picking. you are attributing the life expectancy of the entire population to a specific subset of the populace to whom it will not apply.
