Definition of the word "Prestige":
French, from Middle French, conjuror's trick, illusion, from Latin praestigiae, plural, conjuror's tricks, from praestringere to graze, blunt, constrict, from prae- + stringereto bind tight.

So all attempts at "Prestige" are a magic trick.
The Self can never have "Prestige" only the abstract Ego identity can be used to fool others.
All the problems occur when people start to believe their own illusions.
