You said "with a chief goal to connect the Apollo Fakery camp with believers of the FlatEarth theory." And Apollo deniers only have themselves to blame, since whenever flat Earth believers post their nonsense the Apollo deniers never ever challenge them! Direct me to just one thread in this video where Apollo deniers are the ones attacking flat Earth believers over their claims that space is fake and the Earth is flat. For some reason you all just ignore them, only ever saying something if someone falsely accuses you of being a flat Earth believer. For some reason you all appear to have the mindset that "the enemy of my enemy is my friend" and so you side with them over the moon landings while ignoring the real reasons why they say men have never been to the moon! :-|
2
You said "people were going to analysing the media and how many problems with the video/photographic record would be identified by people around the world..." How is that any different to all the flat Earth believers who claim every video and photograph of the Earth from space is CGI?
2
@sabrinaprovencal5954 - You said "yes from east to west. Not north to south. No one has ever circumnavigated the earth in the north south direction." Incorrect, for example; edition.cnn.com/travel/article/speed-record-circumnavigate-intl-scli And edition.cnn.com/travel/article/pole-to-pole-pan-am-flight-50/index.html
2
@CHRIS50117 - You said "Trillions of pounds of water being held by gravity. But gravity cannot pull down a balloon or a bird flying over the waters." A classic misunderstanding of gravity, that all flat Earth believers share :-|
2
Photo editing 2500 years ago? :-|
2
In other words you believe the Earth is flat? :-|
2
@BOTPlayingBlackOPS6 - If you're going to mention God and Jesus, then why haven't you looked any further with regards to the shape of the Earth and Christianity? Christian churches throughout history have only ever said the Earth is a globe (albeit a stationary globe for much of that history), none of them have ever said the Earth is flat. Why? Because we can find verses in the Bible that explicitly says the Earth is stationary, but none that explicitly states the shape of the Earth.
2
@BOTPlayingBlackOPS6 - So you're not a Christian? If not, then why even mention Jesus here? :-| You mention God so do you read the Bible? If so then which one please?
2
@BOTPlayingBlackOPS6 - Nice projection, but those who claim others are triggered often do so because they were triggered. So was I really that close to exposing your hypocrisy? :-)
2
@BOTPlayingBlackOPS6 - You continue to prove my points perfectly son, thanks :-) Christianity; Definition "religion that is based on the teachings of Jesus Christ and the belief that he was the son of God." Shape of the Earth according to all Christian churches in history; Globe Case closed :-)
2
@BOTPlayingBlackOPS6 - Christianity; Definition "religion that is based on the teachings of Jesus Christ and the belief that he was the son of God." Christianity is BY FAR the largest religion in Mexico. So by your logic, the vast majority of Christian churches and Mexican Christians must be evil for believing the Earth is a globe. If not, then explain how they are any different. Didn't you learn about God and Jesus from Bibles produced by Christian churches? :-| If not, then name the non-Christian Bible that you read please.
2
@BOTPlayingBlackOPS6 - Name the Christian religious groups you consider to be "true Christians" please :-)
2
@macmac9371 - Said by Creationists, the group who take the Bible more literally than anyone else.
2
@macmac9371 - For example; From AnswersInGenesis "Even a layperson today can observe that the earth is not flat: The earth’s roundness can be seen as a shadow on the moon during a lunar eclipse. We’ve all seen photos of a spherical earth taken by spacecraft circling the earth. Even people in ancient times saw ships disappear over the horizon, and knew (centuries before Columbus) that the earth was round."
2
@macmac9371 - From AnswersInGenesis "Evolutionists often falsely accuse creationists of believing in a flat Earth. But neither history nor modern scholarship supports the claim that Christians ever widely believed that the Earth was flat. And the Bible doesn’t teach it."
2
From CreationMuseum "You would think that if the Bible clearly teaches the earth is flat, there would be a verse somewhere that says, "The earth is flat," but there isn’t."
2
@macmac9371 - From the Institute for Creation research (ICR) "Flat earth fallacies are just one more way to muddy the waters in the creation and evolution debate, as well as trying to discredit the Bible as being inaccurate and Christianity as an empty hoax..."
2
@macmac9371 - From CreationToday "Are Creationists "Flat Earthers"? While probably most creationists would answer with a resounding "NO" it must be admitted that there are Flat Earthers who are Creationists... Our Conclusion; In short, we do not believe that the Bible teaches that the earth is flat. On the contrary, it has been well argued that the Bible actually assumes a round earth..." I could go on and on and on with more examples, but I think my point has been made :-)
2
@KangenAlec - Except it doesn't work. Next? :-)
2
@filipossavides4716 - You said "i do not have proof for either theory." And there |ies the problem, you don't know yourself and so you're projecting on that basis. The Earth being a globe is not a theory, it's an established fact. How the Earth was formed is a theory, how the universe came into existence is a theory, etc, but the shape of the Earth is an established fact. Therefore this video is not about proving established facts. Atoms for example is an established fact, but if a conspiracy theory grows in popularity claiming atoms are fake, then it is up to believers of that conspiracy to prove atoms are fake, it is not up to you or me or anyone else to prove to them that atoms are real :-|
2
You said "Manifesting righteous anger he is unaware of the fact, that a thing can be both, round and flat at the same time" Which is irrelevant to the proven fact (hence not a mere belief) that the Earth is a globe, and therefore flat Earth believers are wrong :-)
2
@tiloraber627 - Hollow/concave Earth believers also "know" it for sure, but that doesn't make them right :-) So can you say which version of a flat Earth you believe please? I ask because there are many versions to choose from, i.e. dome or no dome? Edge (finite plane) or no edge (infinite plane)? More land and seas beyond the ice wall? Pillars or no pillars? Gravity or no gravity? Globe sun and moon or flat sun and moon? Rahu and Ketu, or just the moon? etc. Once you say which flat Earth you mean, then your comments here will be in context of that flat Earth.
2
Creationist say the Earth is a globe.
2
Nik, you said "BTW, i`ve got master`s degree in Astronomy..." Check out 'Libration' please. In other words, we see the same face of the moon but it wobbles relative to the Earth, where over time we get to see around 59 percent of the moon's surface. That same wobble brings craters and features in and out of view on the edge of the moon, which makes it clear to any real astronomer that the moon is spherical.
2
@nikg9493 - And the fact that you even mentioned NASA, which was formed in 1958, when modern astronomy as a science is around 5 centuries old says it all. Therefore your master's degree in Astronomy is as real as my Nobel Prize :-)
2
So you're saying you're not a Christian Benny? :-|
2
People have known the Earth is a globe for around 2500 years. Christian Churches throughout history have only said the Earth is a globe. So when exactly did your so-called propaganda start? :-)
2
You said "I used to be the biggest NASA fanboy" No you didn't :-)
2
People believe in flat Earth and hollow Earth and alien abductions and evil spirits etc because unfortunately that's human nature, where it has little if anything to do with gvt. If those same people were born into a perfect world then they would still manage to "find" conspiracies to worry about because that is what drives them. It helps to give their lives meaning :-|
2
The Earth is a globe :-)
2
So can you say which version of a flat Earth you believe please? A brief summary in your own words would suffice. I ask because there are many versions to choose from, i.e. firmament dome or no firmament dome? Edge of a flat Earth (finite plane) or no edge (infinite plane)? More land and seas beyond the ice wall? Pillars or no pillars? Gravity or no gravity? Globe sun and moon or flat sun and moon? Rahu and Ketu, or just the moon during eclipses? etc. Once you say which flat Earth you mean, then your comments here will be in context of your flat Earth.
2
@CanaldoFakeflip - No that's just you proving you can't understand details (btw, there's no need to up vote your own replies ;-)). No-one says the Earth is a perfect sphere, instead what people try to explain to others is how the Earth DIFFERS from being a perfect sphere. Because the Earth rotates it bulges out slightly at the equator, hence that makes the shape of the Earth more like an oblate spheroid. However, even that oblate spheroid isn't perfectly symmetrical, instead the Earth bulges out a fraction more in the southern half compared to the northern half, hence the pear shape analogy used by some. All the above are just descriptions of the shape of the Earth in more or less detail, where the distortion is so small that the Earth would still look like a perfect sphere to our EYES.
2
@CanaldoFakeflip - So now that I've explained to you what those descriptions of the shape of the Earth actually means, please answer the question you avoided and describe the flat Earth you believe. If you don't know, then all you have to do is say you don't know, or say you're still thinking about it, you shouldn't need to avoid it :-|
2
@CanaldoFakeflip - Ok, but by that logic you're also free to believe the Earth is shaped like a pyramid or a cube or a cylinder or whatever you want. So fine, we'll leave it there, have a good day too :-)
2
Anyone who uses the tired old conspiracy cliché "Wake up" cannot be taken seriously :-)
2
The title is "Why People Think the World is Flat" :-)
2
@rolie2live - Are you saying you're not sure about the shape of the Earth yourself and therefore you were looking for someone to present you with evidence that will convince you? :-|
2
So can you say which version of a flat Earth you believe please? A brief summary in your own words would suffice. I ask because there are many versions to choose from, i.e. firmament dome or no firmament dome? Edge of a flat Earth (finite plane) or no edge (infinite plane)? 2
The Bible doesn't explicitly state the shape of the Earth, and no Christian church in history (responsible for producing the Bibles you've read) have ever preached a flat Earth, they've only ever said the Earth is a globe (albeit a stationary globe for most of Christian history).
2
Perhaps because when flat Earth believers are equally aggressive you don't notice or care because you agree with them? :-|
2
@The.Original.Hossman - You criticize the understanding of others regarding the Earth being a globe, so perhaps you can demonstrate your understanding of the Earth being flat? In other words, can you say which version of a flat Earth you believe please? A brief summary in your own words would suffice. I ask because there are many versions to choose from, i.e. firmament dome or no firmament dome? Edge of a flat Earth (finite plane) or no edge (infinite plane)? More land and seas beyond the ice wall? Pillars or no pillars? Gravity or no gravity? Globe sun and moon or flat sun and moon? 2
So before going any further... Creationists claim the Bible proves the Earth is 6,000 to 10,000 years old, that Adam and Eve were the first people, that Noah's Flood was a real event, that dinosaurs and people coexisted, and so on. Therefore can you think of a group that takes the Bible more literally than Creationists? Yes or no? If yes then name them please :-)
2
Unfortunately flat Earth believers who claim the Bible says the Earth is flat are effectively mocking creation :-|
2
@KangenAlec - That's just a video of long debunked claims. So just to be clear, can you say which version of a flat Earth you believe in please? Because there are many to choose from, i.e. dome or no dome? Edge or no edge? Infinite plane? Pillars or no pillars? Gravity or no gravity? Globe sun/moon or flat sun/moon? etc.
2
That's Gish Gallop Keith, a rather cheap tactic (sorry, but it's true). I could create an equally long list demanding evidence from flat Earth believers, but that would be equally unfair and unjustified, hence I always focus only on one or two points at a time for fairness. So if you want to make claims, then pick one or two for discussion, preferably the best two in your opinion. Perhaps we can start with "Please provide evidence of a satellite transiting between the earth and the moon that is not on a balloon"? And then I can put a request to you for discussion, and then you can pick another from your list, and so on.
2
@BOTPlayingBlackOPS6 - You said "the bibles is God's word!" Which Bible? Since they all vary. You explicitly told me that Catholics are not true Christians and you suggested members of any Christian church are not true Christians either. So surely you are not referring to a version of the Bible produced by those who are not true Christians? Right? So which Bible please :-)
2
The last two 'Elevator' videos are particularly interesting, because they are both time lapse videos of the view from a drone flown up and down to capture the shape of the water, showing it to be curved. And remember, there's nothing stopping flat Earth believers from doing the same to check the shape of lakes and seas for themselves :-)
2
You said "you still have to drop your kids at school..." Do you think the flat Earth believing parents of kids who have school books and teachers and homework that says the Earth is a globe will stay silent, or do you think they will tell their kids that it's all a lie and that they cannot trust science and they cannot even trust their teachers?
2
And I'm sure everyone believes you ;-)
2
Asking questions is fine, everyone should do it, but making up your own answers to the questions you ask is not fine :-) And yet that's what believers of most conspiracies typical do, including flat Earth believers.
