@Antonio-op6iw "Jury finds Trump liable for sexual abuse,..." And not guilty of rape.

@nammoadidaphat52 "Yes, AOC should be held responsible to her thoughts and wrongful intention!" Which of course is NOT what the original poster said. But like AOC, I guess letting facts get in the way of maligning someone is not on the radar.

I see too much of the attitude "it's another country, not our problem" coming from America, and I'd suggest that's one reason you don't hear a lot from America's politicians.

Or Sky News Australia.

@jeffspicolli593 "The difference with the American Constitution is the protections are bestowed on the people of the Republic, not the Government." However, the government can change the American Constitution. Yes, it needs the agreement of the states, and it won't be changed readily. But contrast that with Australia, where the constitution can only be changed by a national referendum. I'm not saying that it makes that much difference in practice, but it would seem, in principle, to be a bit easier to change America's constitution than Australia's. However, Australia's constitution doesn't have anything all that similar to the U.S. First Amendment.

I'm a big fan of Trump and Vance, but the snippets shown here do seem to show Trump talking over Zelensky more than anything. Zelensky should accept that Trump would have the ability to make Putin stick to any agreement, but Trump is acting like an Indian giver, and like he's in charge of someone else's war. America gave Ukraine weapons and money, but now wants him to pay for them? Yes, without the help given Zelensky, the war would have been over quickly. But it could also have been over quickly if Ukraine had been given proper help in the first place. What Ukraine was given was just enough to keep the war going, but not enough to bring it to an end quickly. I realise that there would be a lot more at play here than is visible on the surface, so I'll try and keep an open mind, but those are my impressions.

On the other hand, it's been rather obvious that various countries have provided enough money and munitions to keep the war going, but not enough to bring it to an end. Perhaps that was his complaint. As one example, Australia donated armoured vehicles, but buried military helicopters it no longer wanted rather than send them to Ukraine to use.

@Lika786 "Not enough pilots to fly those helicopters." According to who? Zelensky said that he'd like to have them. And of course that was just an example.

The first animal(s) killed for clothing were killed by God to clothe Adam and Eve after they sinned. Humans were created vegetarian, but after the flood God gave permission to eat meat. People who want to ban killing animals for those purposes need to explain why those decisions no longer apply.

I'm not defending Harris trying to change the rules, but I don't see what's wrong with allowing notes. Sometimes, for example, you might want to quote someone or cite some figures, and if you've got it in notes you can do so accurately instead of from memory, and risk the fact checkers hauling you over the coals for getting a word or figure wrong.

The fact checker was correct. There was (and still is) plenty of water in the area. Just look—the city is right next to the Pacific Ocean! Oh, you mean water that was available to the fire fighters? Well, umm, ....
