Presidents don't pass legislation nor should they suggest legislation. Congress needs to get their @#$ together and pass legislation that helps Americans.

@KG9551 .. Nope. The president can't waive student debt by Executive Order. The President can only delay payment by Executive Order which Criminal Trump and Biden have did for COVID.

@KG9551 .. Nope. The President can't waive student loan debt without public service. No public service no loan forgiveness as it says in the Education Act. The Education Act also limits the loan forgiveness to federal student loans and no private lending companies.

@seanhovan7426 ... The president doesn't have the authority to discharge federal student debt without public service. Anyone that has not performed public service for a period of time or has a loan from a private lender can't have their student debt discharged. It has nothing to do with private colleges.

@brandonsmith9098 .. No. The president can't do it. Any executive action on student loans would prompt loan companies to request a court injunction and it would head toward the USSC.

@brandonsmith9098 .. Sorry to disappoint you. The President can't wipe out student debt for nothing in return. The president can set aside money to pay someone's student debt if they provide public service. Worse is that they could only pay for federal govt student loan debt. That is it. Congress would have to pass legislation to pay the debt. The Biden and Trump admin did not waive anyone's student debt. They just played a moratorium on payments. That is not paying student debt. It is delaying it.

Biden even said he would need congress to pass legislation to wipe out the debt. 3) I like my own comments since it bothers internet G___KS so much. GOTCHA !
