The War in Afghanistan ENDED in 2002. It's been a police action ever since. Only the media keeps selling it as a "war" I don't hear any WHINING about US troops still in Germany and Japan 70 years after WW2 ended. That's all that needed to be said about US troops staying in Afghanistan for 50 years. To protect the new country of Afghanistan and outlive the Taliban.

There was ZERO reason to pull out of Afghanistan. The war there ended in 2002 and the police action needed to continue for another 50 years like Germany and Japan.

100% FALSE. The war in Afghanistan ended in 2002. The police action protecting the new country in Afghanistan needed to continue for another 50 years like Germany and Japan. It became Vietnam when Criminal Trump negotiated his Cut and Run deal and Biden went along with it willingly.

100% FALSE. Protecting the new country of Afghanistan is what staying is about.

@serjarmen ... 1) Being "just like" Japan or Germany post WW2 is NOT a requirement to nation build in Afghanistan.' 2) Nation building in Afghanistan helps US national security interests. 3) Bush43 and Criminal Cheney botched both Iraq and Afghanistan by making the rebuilding effort an American contractor bonanza. Try again LIGHTWEIGHT

@menkaragamble8175 ... Sure. That is why US troops were needed for a long time in Afghanistan to protect the new Afghanistan. The fact is that Americans so little problem with leaving troops in Germany and Japan that they have never thought about troops leaving Germany or Japan.

@Robert Townrow ... The same conditions that made it necessary to leave US troops in Germany and Japan post WW2 are present in 2021 Afghanistan. You are wrong on so many "facts" that it is laughable. Just because Bush43 let contractors rip off the American taxpayer is NOT a good reason not to leave US troops in Afghanistan like we did in Germany and Japan post WW2. Try again LIGHTWEIGHT
