  1. You can spend the money to update and you'd be lucky to get all that money back. Most of the time you won't. Just make it look the best you can and put it on the market. Use what you get for it to buy a tiny home with brand new appliances. It's still a seller's market out there. Best of luck to you. 💕

The saddest part is the government usually pays more for the apartment then the landlord would have gotten on the open market and then when other landlords here that someone is getting that higher amount they assume they can too and boom 💥 rents go up. Happened in my hometown when low income housing got built
