@aleksandrsl4328 your note presupposes a value to hypersonic missiles that does not exist. For instance, how would a hypersonic missile be used to engage a Ranger Squad from the 75th Rangers which has set up a hidden ambush on the Main Supply Route (MSR) from Belarus to their forces mired north of Kiev? How would it be employed against a platoon of Bradley's employed in two step firing positions preventing Russian movement along the again access of advance towards Kharkov? I don't care how fast that missile is, those positions are hard to engage (have not seen the Russians digging them in, likely because they do not have the appropriate fuel for a d7 shovel to dig them in) How does a hypersonic weapon beat an area stacking non pgm rocket deliverer like a BM21? Love to hear your answer.

I guess they are a hyper efficient battalion if they can operate in three locations (donbas, Mirapal, Kiev ) all at one time. I recommend you urge the sovs to retreat or that battalion will roll them up in nothing flat. Let's face it, commies have zero valu e in human life. Katyn massacre, the gulag archipelgo, task force smith, the cambodian killing fields, archipelago, "reeducation camps" in South Vietnam, the Hanoi Hilton, and the Uigers of China all attest that humans are simply either a distraction or a means forward. Hell, Nicolae Ezhov was a hero of the soviet union for his non stop executions during Stalins Purges. 700,000 got whacked and another 600,000 shipped to starvation in the gulag. Commies love to kill the innocent, but then blame it on others.

@aleksandrsl4328 except to use them you have to be found . Not hard for the russians who are road bound in their mud averse t72s. Just look along the hardened roads Nd there they are. But Where are the Rangers? They are everywhere and no where. Until they pop a manpads on a landing Kamov, set off a daisy chain under the logistics convoy, or over run the regimental command post. The Russians thought the sight of tanks would cause the Ukrainians to capitulate, and they left the infantry on the farm. So there is no one out there to counter the patrols like the Ukrainians and the hypothetical Rangers.

@aleksandrsl4328 maybe if it went nuclear. But in a conventional battle it would materialize much like Desert Storm and Iraqi Freedom. A well supported professional army with popular support of the locals would devastate a second rate poorly supplied conscript force which would surrender in droves. We always wondered what it would be like to engage the sovs in the Hof Corridor and Fulda Gap. We were pretty certain we would stack them like sandbags. Now we know we were right. Can you imagine these guys from the east making it across the river? No way. They would be too busy looting the locals ......

@aleksandrsl4328 pretty much everywhere. The anti soviet protests are springing up even in the east where you seem to assert the Russians are popular. So, yup, lots of support for NATO probably on the scale of the Dutch support for liberation in 1944.

@aleksandrsl4328 oh, I am sure that won't be necessary after all the ukrainian volunteers get advanced training by Special Forces trainers in technical subjects. By mid summer the Russian casualty count will be approaching 100,000 and the already depleting Red Army will be being bled white. In the usual Russian style one of Putins most trusted aides will walk him by an open door where someone will step out after he is passing and hang a 9mm behind his ear. Medvedev perhaps? And then the new leadership will sue for peace. The problem the becomes what does Ukraine do with all the POWs? That gets ugly....

@aleksandrsl4328 so far to be seen, but day by day then odds in favor of Russia drop little by little. Right now I would say odds of an outright Russian victory 10%. Odds od an outright ukrainian victory coming in 2024 30%.

The sov seem to input the factors and qualities of the 7th Cavalry, waffen ss, northern route and the kwantung army all rolled into one. Ukraine makes it to mid summer campaign season and russian success drops another 5%. By then Ukraine will have polish migs, and PGM kits.to go with their ordnance. Then the slaughter of the russian Colonels goes into high gear. "Yuri, want to command a tank Battalion? "No Sasha, I think I will keep driving the zamboni until Putin conficates it to try and haul fuel into Ukraine..."

For the record, all sources co servatively estimate that from 1918 to 1956 at least 1.7 million died in the gulag, mostly of overwork and starvation. And it was undoubtedly higher.

@nemanjaredzic9534 Interesting. A couple of questions about the mission and execution of the mission. 1. How many fixed wing aircraft were able to land at the airfield and discharge cargo? 2. How far out was the perimeter pushed out to facilitate safe unloading. 3. How many units arrived at the airfield in the fixed wing birds and move out of the air bridge. 4. Did the Russians bring in SU25 Frogfoots to use it as a forward air refueling point (farp) on their missions . 5. What was the plan to establish a logbase on the airfield and how many tons of cargo moved out from it?
