  1.  @ashes2rose  A case of friendly fire in 1967 has you in a tussle? I am more concerned by the 240 Marines killed in Beirut, 220 diplomatic personnel killed in the Embassy bombing of 1998 in Africa, and 31 US civilians killed 7 October. What say you about those?

  3.  @ohlszon  Have you been in combat? I have. Friendly fire-aint.... During desert storm one of our units was engaged by a pair of Apaches. Contrary to certain belief, pilots aren't exactly the best at armored vehicle recognition and the destroyed two of our AFVs. Should I hold a long grudge? During Afghanistan the USAF engaged a Canadian Patrol, killing many. Should the Canadians similarly hold the grudge? We have lost more to intentional killings by terrorists, but you don't seem to care about that.

  5.  @doseckes3183  And you know this HOW? Did the Apache Jocks who engaged our two AFV know they were American? They should have. They were flying the VVS-17 Panel and looked just like the AFV the Apache Jocks flew over every day back home. Yet things happen.

  10.  @astral_haze  Interesting. Who said that is my viewpoint? I am a strong believer in respecting the Law of Land Warfare (LoLW). It is something I have witnessed the IDF attempting g to adhere to. The LoLW is not something the Hammys respect nor adhere to in any way. If you wish to debate that facti will be here.

  11.  @doseckes3183  And he knew it how? The guys in the AFVs that I reference getting hit by the Apaches at first thought they were under fire from Iraq AT guns. Then when the survivors were dismounted they saw it was fire from above and behind them. Then they understood. The Apache jocks only understood who they were engaging when the troop commander called the TOC and relayed who was being engaged. War is like that. Friendly fire ain't friendly. But it happens. No one actually answered my earlier question of why the IDF would purposely engage a US Surveillance platform.?

Also tell me what carve out from the rules exist for said "resistance" fighters. Which rules from the LoLW are they immune to? For instance, are they allowed to take hostages for ransom?

I spent may nights making sure the Norks did not attack South across the DMZ and enslave South Korea. In 1991 I was part of the force that kicked Saddam out of Kuwait, and later helped prevent his Baath Party from massacre the swamp Arabs of the Mesopotamia. We countered the Islamo Fascist Terrorists in the wester pacific. Made sure some if them floated away. Freed Iraq from Saddam Hussein, and after the Al Anbar Awakening turned it back over to the Iraqi People. Spent many a night watching the US/ Mexico Border to intercept drug runners before the current administration decided that was okay to import. All in all, not bad. Better than any Euro Nihilist.....
