The resulting change of leadership will blame all its ills on him and pull back to try and rebuild. Oh, and somehow absorb its losses in an already shrinking population base.

@NewOrleansSeptember MLRS M30 rounds are tearing up the shell that is the Russian Army. It is more likely Russia will try for a fighting withdrawal than go an inch closer to Kiev. And if I was president of the US Russian cities would start absorbing an ATACM s round for every indiscriminate terror round popped at the Ukrainian populous. But I would aim at governmental buildings instead of shopping malls like you thugs.

@MrJ9191 war ain't over yet Pancho. Sovs have expended their first line BTGs for amazingly little ground gain. Now those forces which are at reduced capability will be picked apart by a superior cohort of ukrainian light infantry which will go out at night , Infiltrate , set up atgm ambushes, and calls for fire. Its over for the sovs. They just don't know it yet. But I suspect Vlad Pooty does. The stress is killing him.

@jdg9999 okay, let's hash that out. Standard battlefield calculus holds that the force that is in the offense usually takes 2.5 times the casualties of the defender. I see no evidence that would modify that calculus. Therefore if the Ukrainian have suffered 10,000 kia since the war started, the calculus says you can expect 25,000 Russian KIA. So how many casualties do you think the force on the defense has taken? We can do the math....

@planetmikusha5898 true, but the Russians cannot afford a protracted war that reduces the potential for popation stability. Best example I can give is one side of my family is Scottish. The Scottish keep a record of all the members of the Clans. Pretty extensive documentation. The clan losses in WW1 run to about eight pages. The clan losses in WWII are contained in one page. When you do the analysis of that it tells you the outsized losses in WWI led to a shorting of potential fathers for the soldiers from the clan in WWII. The same thing has happened in Russia before and is happening again. Couple that wife fewer children being born in bad economic times which are ramping up and you see Russia us destined to have an escalating decline in population. And the Ukraine is not the only place Russia has to maintain a force. But as of three months ago the have been depleting forces from the Kaliningrad, Finnish, Georgian, Baltic, Mongolian, and far eastern borders to maintain BTGs in Ukraine . Of 170 BTGs in the Russian Army 140 have been committed to Ukraine. Bad days for Russia ahead.

Deportation of innocent civilians to the east from captured towns. 4. And, littering the ground with sov corpses which the cant seem to pick up and take back to mother Russia where they came from.

Interesting that Vlad Pooty has not been seen pinning a medal on an actual legless, burned tanker fried by an ATGM. Why is that? After all, George Bush was well known for his bedside visits at Walter Reed. Guess the answer is the Russians are not as accepting of casualties as they think they are.

@samsungtap4183 1. The defenses were not created by the NATO forces, rather the superior corp of NCOs that are performing active defense missions were trained by the west. 2. I have yet to see anti tank ditches, triple strand concertina, or emplaced barriers that you see in the area 1 of South Korea. Limited ww1 style trenches have been dug, but I do not see anything ground breaking in their use. 3. What does totally reflect the western training that they have received is the superior squad level patrols that actively go out and harass the SOVs with reconnaissance (total props for using commercially available quad copters), Anti tank ambushes, and L shaped Ambushes. Makes a Benning School for Boys Grad proud 4. The real key is that the SOVs have NONE of it. Their only tactic is to put on a huge barrage in the hope they get lucky. Then they lead with the BTGs tank company straight down the road in column. AND THEY DIE IN DROVES. The only reason the SOVs are making progress is because they are willing to allow batches of their kids to get vaporized for little gain. But Vlad Pooty doesn't care, he cremates them forward and then denies they were even there. "Vanya? Who is Vanya?."

Besides, if the Russians could make the circuit boards for a washer, they would tear them out to install in a boomerang SAM..... And what is it with Russians stealing toilets?
