In the movie braveheart there is a scene just before the battle of Sterling where two Scotsman are standing side by side and they look over at the scottish noblemen who are asking them to stay on the field of battle until terms that benefit the nobles are negotiated. The one scotsman turns to the other and says something to the effect of "I am not fighting for THAT lot..." and starts to walk off. The current Administration with its psychotic woke policies are simply looking for terms that are advantageous to them. Who wants to fight for that?

  2. My experience is that it is not the experience IN Iraq and Afghanistan that puts parents off from encouraging their children to join. Rather it is largely the post conflict results that discourages them. Both Iraq and Afghanistan suffered from the post fall of Saigon syndrome. I first put on a uniform in 1982 and MIGHT not have joined during a second Carter administration. Giving up on South Vietnam coupled with Desert One was NOT a great advertising point. Today, no one in uniform trusts the current administration to use the military to do anything like fight an actual war. But we do expect to see a steady drumbeat of woke policies enacted by weak leaders. You want to fight for that?

  3. An interesting stat is that the typical 18 year old of today is totally physically incapable of passing the physical standards that me and.my compatriots easily passed in 1982. Why is that? Today's kids are trapped at home sitting on their beds watching vapid influences on their phone. Parents today are terrified of sending their kids out to run and bike through the neighborhood unfettered like we did. Why can't they do that? Because the fear of child predators who are released from prison daily is real. At our high schools it used to be you had to actually work up a sweat and burn off calories as well as anxieties before showering it all off. Today they don't . Why not? Because the high schools are terrified of the potential of law suits by the transgendered being denied getting their kicks in the locker room. Kids today all seem to suffer from adhd and need adoral to sit quietly in class? Why? Because they are not spent from the lack of physical exertion. They are fat, but I think they consume fewer calories than we did then. They just can't burn it off....

If Harry Potter had an applicable scene with appropriate sentiment, I would use it as well. The appropriate sentiment is that no one was willing to die in an op thought up by Jimmy Carter, and no one is willing to take a risk for Joey Biden who is only interested in skin color, unusual sexual preference, and the trans agenda. When is the last time anyone in the Biden administration addressed a group of soldiers and told them their focus was efficiently killing the enemy in order to win wars? It has never happened.....
