I'm too old now, but I never had kids, partly because I was scared of the pain. I think too many tv shows in the 80's/90's showed women going into labor and screaming, and that really scared me. I admire women that have children, and it amazes me that everyone that exists came into being that way. All that said, in my late 20's I was asked to be with Spanish speaking friends that were going to give birth in the hospital and needed me to translate. So I was there for a C-section, and there for a natural birth, (that one was tough), but it almost made me think maybe I could do it. I think it was wise of this mom to let her daughter be there since she wanted to be, so she could have that knowledge and experience.
