  2. American fast food is mostly the same, some small differences. I was surprised that McDonald's in Ciudad Victoria doesn't sell shakes. I remember the KFC biscuits in Queretaro were more like rolls. Carl's Jr. in Tampico was pretty much the same. The hard thing is the prices, if you're earning money in pesos it can be a week's wages, $500 pesos, to take your family to eat Carl's Jr.

  3. I've been trying to learn Chinese for a while now, but it is hard. I just can't get the tones, can't remember them. I did recognize a lot (a lot for me, anyway) of Chinese words in the subtitles, though. Didn't really understand the speaking. I learned Spanish as a second language, and it is really cool to be able to talk to people and surprise them sometimes.
