If you do not already have an escape plan well underway, it is probably already too late.

Why it is much better to just qualify for second citizenship with 5 years residency and accelerated if necessary by birthing a child. Zero tax havens are going away eventually anyway.

@nomadcapitalist Mexico does not withhold naturalization if you have a Mexican child. Probably Colombia and Brazil also will not, but everything can change quickly. But clearly Mexico is at least until now very in favor of family reunification, whereas even Colombia has a bit more hoops (e.g. slightly more financial requirements, jus soli only if parents were legal residents). As for zero tax machinations (e.g. can even be accomplished with Thailand residency), what I am referring to is a push by the G7 (and possibly the G20) to harmonize around a minimum tax rate in the teens of a percentage. Zero tax havens are going away and the writing is on the wall. Even I can see Antigua & Barbuda is transitioning to a $20k flat tax, but even that will eventually be useless because you'll be snagged by one of your other citizenships and their laws against tax havens which for example Mexico, Colombia and Ecuador already have. My concern is that without child, these countries can easily rescind your nationalization on some technicality. As for your stance of obeying the law, what happens when the rule of law is no longer followed by the West and consequently maybe every banana republic? Andrew we are heading into very bad times. Be careful with your smug attitude.

Pray your passports are not cancelled before you make it to 5 years and can apply for a Mexican passport. You could accelerate it by birthing a child in Mexico. If you are over 60, then no need to pass the Spanish language and history test for naturalization. Hope the laws and policies do not change before you are eligible. The clock is ticking and everything is about to go off the rails.

@queserasera1674 even nationalized citizenship can be revoked.
