I was married to a female psychopath for several years. All of this information is 100% spot on. I would like to add that she was also very adept (towards the end) at manipulating law enforcement and the legal system to be her thugs. She manipulated cops, prosecutors and judges with ease, having me falsely imprisoned for 2 years on her word alone. She used that time to systematically defraud me. I was finally released when she tired of the game and moved on, but not before I lost everything financially between what she stole and legal fees.

My ex used all of these tactics. She was later diagnosed as a psychopath. I've read and heard in several different places that every psychopath is also a narcissist. Hearing this, I tend to believe it.

I was married to a woman later diagnosed as a psychopath. She strongly displayed every single one of these ten tactics. My life was pure hell until I came to my senses several months after she ran off with another woman to join (and later take over) a cult. I was raise by narcissist parents. My mother was covert, my father grandiose. The familiar repetitive pattern you mentioned as part of tactic #7 was very prevalent in my life and my willingness to put up with all this garbage. I had been programmed from childhood to do so. Fortunately, I have obtained some excellent counseling and deprogramming. Now I see these signs in people and immediately cut all contact. Still a lot of damage done though. I trust no one and have little desire to get into a relationship again. To me, narcissists and their psychopathic cousins are the very definition of evil on this planet.

@murphyjohnston1814 Psychopaths are also notorious liars. Anything they says is suspect.

Wow. I had all these at my former place of work with my boss. No wonder I feel exponentially better after leaving that place.

@sharonkende4774 I was not able to sue because she was considered the victim. No lawyer would touch it. I was held for 2 years before the charges were dismissed. So yeah, justice was served, but I lost my home and 300K paying for that justice.

@Greydog184 Hang in there brother. Don't stop fighting or praying. I got my child back after two years, got sole custody in the divorce, then went back and had my ex's parental rights terminated. Psychopaths are impulsive and they eventually slip up. When they do, hit them hard and without mercy.

@nemziii200 I can definitely relate. I rode the same roller coaster. Looking back, it was amazing all the stupid things she manipulated me into doing. I don't think all, or even most, women are like this. Probably only a small fraction. The problem however, is that every woman has the legal and societal power to do things like this with impunity, and get away with it every time. No thank you.

@Brycebomb90 Thanks man. Filled with happiness now that she is gone and I learned to identify these people and their narcissist cousins fairly early. Wish my parents had taught me about that instead of passing on useless tropes like "be a good man" and "work hard." I am teaching my child all about these types and their tactics.

@greghenderson8745 Yep, same a what Ive read

Feeling anxious and uneasy after encounters with them, or even hearing of them, is a big one for me. There were a half dozen covert narcs in my life over various times and they all left me feeling this way. The latest one is no exception, even though I cut him off cold two years ago. I sometimes worry to what lengths he will go for revenge ... even though he has proven himself far to lazy to make any kind of move that doesn't result in people fawning all over him. Still, knowing that toxic mind is out there is sometimes all it takes to put me on alert.

@ReyAce00 Sure seems that way

@BarbaraM-lv7pe I'm familiar with hypervigilance, but the crappy childhood fairy is a new one for me. 😉 Thanks ... I will check it out.

Imagine if your mother was the covert narcissist ... manipulating you since you were an infant and throughout childhood, before you even had a chance to develop any defenses or critical thinking. That is pure evil. I lived it.

Narcissists, and their psychopath cousins, are the most vile and disgusting creatures on this planet.

@JimmyJamesonJnr Glad you recovered. That's the main problem here in the West today. Any woman can use law enforcement and the courts as their own personal army of thugs to beat you down, take from you and even imprison you without a shred of evidence ... just to get rid of you after they get bored with you. You are assumed guilty, period ... good luck proving your innocence. Until that changes, more and more men will permanently walk away from women.

@kdr129 I don't do well in confined spaces, but it was a challenge, to be sure.

@cindytaylor759 Spoke like a true ignorant person who has no clue what a psychopath is. Pray you never run into one. If you do, then come back and lecture me on personal accountability.

@Fudge-picker The odd grow in favor of that every day. She's currently running religious scams all across the country to defraud people.

@marietjevanderloo6442 I didn't realize until after she was gone. She had me falsely arrested so she had time to clean out my finances and disappear into a cult with another woman. She took our child with her, who she later abandoned at one of the cult houses and I was able to rescue her. That got me thinking about why any woman ... any mother ... would so casually abandon her child. I researched a lot, really having no clue what I was looking for. I found first one tactic she used (intermittent reinforcement) and from there followed the rabbit trail psychological disorders. It took years before I discovered that she might be a psychopath. I had her forensically examined on the Hare diagnostic scale two different times. Each time she scored higher in psychopathy than the average psychopath in prison.

@markdaniels4178 Yeah, you never believe something like that could happen until it happens to you. The cops, DA and judges practically fell all over themselves to enable her false accusations.
1
@JaimeMartinezJr-k5v I agree 100%. Much easier to be single.
1
@ms.vsmith7881 They are such masterful liars. I've seen them sway police, DA and judge with zero evidence. I don't trust the legal system at all to protect me from a psychopath. The victim ends up behind bars.
