In 2008 I had just quit my job with Countrywide Mortgage the previous year. Of course, it cratered. I didn't leave because of any intuitive foresight. It was because my manager was a jerk. I ended up in a small company that was breaking into web development. It was grossly mismanaged and involved long, long, long work hours. It was common to work all the way through from Friday until the following Monday morning, sleeping an hour here or there on a couch or the floor. I was stuck there for 3 years because there were no jobs to be had, but I was glad I had a job.

@adaslesniak Yes, it was depressing. I learned a lot an put myself in a position never to have to do that again. I was able to go tell my last employer to pound sand for far less :)

People like her are all over the corporate and political worlds. Most just work on a much smaller scale. I'm currently watching a consultant at my company rake in tons of contract money while providing only words and blame shifting. In fact, he's slowly tearing apart a system that used to work. The people in the trenches know it and have tried to warn management, but the consultant effectively charms them into awarding him even more contracts. As usual, nothing will be done until everything implodes and it is too late.

Make you wonder how many other malignant posers are being praised today in the media.

Hey, I have $10 in my pocket and I'll give the first lucky 1,000 people an ownership certificate for only $1. NOTE: This is sarcasm, not a real offer. I'm not a bank or investment company so I cannot do stuff like that.

Sam now has a negative net worth. You mean like all the rest of us? If his one goal was to do right by customers, he shouldn't have stolen their money. Just like all the politicians and media stars, words do not match actions.

All the hallmarks of a non-violent psychopath, most notably the blatant lies, frequent goal shifting and refusal to accept responsibility. I've experienced an endless revolving door of clowns like this during my 30+ years in the business and tech world. Most are two-bit players who have nowhere near the reach, or do the damage, of guys like Milton - but they still do a lot of damage and hurt a lot of people. I see many of them in upper management, where they can spew forth fountains of lies and then scapegoat their subordinates for failures. Incredibly, they are then lauded as successful leaders and often promoted. I've watched one malignant player manipulate his way up to the #2 spot in my company this way. The owner appears to be completely clueless about his deputy. Companies and investors are generally clueless and ill equipped to deal with them, because they are such charming and convincing liars. Nothing is off the table for them, so they will pull unethical (even criminal) stuff a normal person would never suspect. People take them at face value, which is a fatal error.

Outsourcing parenting to the government ... yet again. Extra points for giving your kid's biometric data to 3rd parties. Up next ... monitoring your meat intake and freezing your credit/debit cards when you've exceeded what the government deems optimal.

One has to wonder if the government was fully aware of what was going on, but let it run off the skids so they could step in and now control crypto.
