  5. I very much relate to your statement about calling out people on their ad hominems, only to have them respond with more ad hominems. Zero self-awareness. Zero introspection. Zero discernment. It seems as thought the vast majority of people you encounter are like this. It reminds me of the courtroom scene in Idiocracy, where "Not Sure" is trying to state a rational case while everyone else in the room is drowning him out with personal attacks and ridicule. That's what it feels like today in mainstream Western society.

  6. I moved from the US to what Americans consider a 3rd World country with an authoritarian government, yet I experience more freedom here than in the US. I felt it, I saw it, but I couldn't explain it. Thank you Rupert, for putting the missing pieces in place. I now understand completely that it was the totalitarian nature of the US culture that was oppressive to me. DEI was the final straw for me in the US, after having seen and experienced 40 years of increasing condemnation and vilification of straight, white men. When one of the VPs of the company for which I worked, told all white men in a meeting to stand up and confess their racism and misogyny ... and then apologize to all those in the room they had marginalized ... I told them to go pound sand and quit. I decided to quit the entire culture. It was a good move for me.

  7. One more sexual taboo. Age gap relationships where the woman is much younger than the man. Although not illegal, the man will get bashed viciously and incessantly if he dates or marries younger. Conversely, women are heralded as cougars, etc. At the same time they are heralded, women loudly complain that there is a double standard where it is accepted for men dating younger, but not women ... when the exact opposite is true.

  9. I trust Rudyard over all the media combined. My daughter-in-law is a rabid leftist. She is exactly as Rudyard described. Cares about no one except herself and her ideology. She sees non-liberals as non-people.

  12. Both my parents were narcissists and growing up was a horror show. But even with that, I still see benefits to my life that men raise by single mothers do not have. That leads me to believe that even a toxic, two-parent home is better than a single mother home.

  13. My parents were toxic as hell. Hated each other's guts and growing up in that home was a horror show. However ... I still see advantages in my life that I had because both my parents stayed together.
