  1. Experienced everything you wrote about for 25+ years in tech. Give companies zero loyalty and only a percentage above bare minimum. You decide what that percentage is based on your own criteria of what is important to you.

  3. My former, and final, employer had a mainframe database as a single point of failure. Almost everything in the entire company that depended upon data ultimately relied on the mainframe. Adding insult to injury, the mainframe had to be taken down for several hours every weekend for maintenance. That in turn, shut down every dependent system, including the company ecommerce website which promised 99.99% uptime to business partners.
