I'll tell you how my parents fixed the college dilemma? They told me I had to pay for it all myself. You're a lot more circumspect if the money is all coming out of your own pocket. Cannot get a loan as a teenager with no credit? That's the idea. You figure out how to fund it yourself and you are very careful what you pay for. I did it with a combination of scholarships and work. You say college is way more expensive today? I hear you. All the more reason to figure out something different.

Why do they all wear those big, ugly glasses? So, I guess nobody researches job availability in that field before choosing a degree? I did that with my first degree in 1979 before there even was an internet. Worked out well for me. Did it again when I decided to change careers in 1995. Worked out well then too. Never laid off, never unemployed, until the day I retired. And yeah, it still took years to work up to a top salary. If I had to do it all over again, I would shoot for my own business instead of being a corporate serf. Being a free agent is far easier today than it was back then.
