  1. You are correct Taylor, foreigners cannot own land here in the Philippines. It is in the name of the Filipina spouse, but the husband's name can be on the title as spouse, so you cannot just toss him out in those cases. More importantly, NO DIVORCE. It is illegal here. So is adultery (although that is selectively enforced). This means the women are far more serious about marriage, because they know it is their only shot. Also, the legal system is not blatantly anti-male like in the US. A man can just blow town and not have to pay any child support. I don't agree with that, nor will I do it, but it s nice to know the judge won't just bend me over and bone me dry any time the woman is "not happy."

  2. I turned my back on Western women years ago. I am married to a Filipina and living in the Philippines. I do not regret either. No desire to return to the West. My wife couldn't care less about the price or composition of the ring. She has no desire to live in the US either. Many Filipinos/Filipinas see it as a godless, hedonistic, entitled nation. My wife is very traditional and comfortable with gender roles. She does the doing cooking and cleaning, and I do the repairs, heavy lifting, etc. There is no posturing, no arguing, no claims of being exploited. That's just expected as normal ... like breathing or eating. Oh ... she also doesn't use bedroom intimacy as a weapon or exploitative lever ... like EVERY Western woman I have ever known or seen. I occasionally see Western women here in the resort areas. Almost all of them are overweight, tatted, pierced and with permanent RBF. They shoot daggers at any Western man with a younger, more fit, more beautiful Filipina. If they are a couple and a Western man is with them, he is also usually overweight, tatted, pierced and looks like he is on temporary work release from prison. The only time they smile is a few seconds for selfies.
