  1. I had a father living at home who never taught me any of this. Had to learn it all through painful and expensive trial-and-error. Joining the military at age 17 is what saved me, but I was amazed at how much catching up I had to do to reach the same level as other soldiers who had male mentors. Men who have the fortunate privilege of still being a father of a family need to engage as well.
