  2. I'm married to a Filipina and live in one of the smaller islands in the Philippines ... far away from the big cities. She is a country girl and has no desire to live in a city, even in the Philippines. She considers that life godless and corrupt. It took me 5 years to find a woman like her, carefully vetting hundreds of different women. No, I didn't sleep with any of them ... I said vetting, not bedding. I needed her parent's permission just to start courting her. She was a virgin when we married. However ... my goal was to move to another country with more traditional values. A wife was a part of that, it was NOT the goal of that. Get boots on the ground. Don't try to make a bar girl into a girlfriend or wife. Don't mess with freelancers in the tourist zones. It's not just financial risk. You can also catch something that's incurable. If she's aggressively chasing your, it's probably a setup. There are a lot of amazing, traditional women in the provinces ... but you have to put in some effort to meet them and get to know their families first. If you're a city guy, you will have a lot less luck. I was off grid rural back in the US, so I fit better into the province life ... although, I warn you, it is still more austere than in the USA. I haven't seen another Westerner in probably 2 months, which is fine with me. Yeah, there are a lot of creepy Western guys here. Not the majority, but I've seen my share of train wrecks and predatory weirdos ... but all in the big cities or resort areas. I've seen guys land a beautiful, young Filipina and then stupidly cheat on her ... or get drunk and slap her around. Not the majority by far, but enough to make you wonder. That's why I stopped hanging out in the areas where Westerners congregate. Property laws here stipulate that foreigners cannot own property here, so it will be in your wife's name. It's a risk. Don't bet more than you can afford to lose. Also, don't lead with your wallet. If you do that, you'll attract women who primarily want your wallet. You also need to keep a clear head with respect to what you spend. Unlike the USA, where the government can take money from you and give it to a woman, you are in complete control over what you spend here and on whom/what you spend it. So exercise that control and don't give it up just because a woman touches your peen.
