  1. If you want a committed relationship here in the Philippines: 1. Don't lead with your wallet 2. Don't try to turn a bar girl into a wife or girlfriend 3. Financial discipline ... if you don't have it, learn it before you go there 4. Learn to spot female manipulative tactics. Pity play is a big one here. Don't fall for it. 5. Meet her family. Family is big here, no avoiding it. If you want a woman not attached to family, good luck with that. The ones here not tied to family usually don't have traditional family values ... so you're just getting another "Western" woman

  6.  @ticktockbam  Yeah, there is quite a bit of logic to that ... but it depends on the person, and how much they are fed up with the Western culture. I would have gone East anyway, because I'd had enough of 40 years of progressively worse man hating in the US.

  7.  @Royaleoake  Yes, I agree with you 100% about the family. The one I married into here in the Philippines has my back much better than my bio family ever did. I know that's conditional on treating their daughter well, but I have every intention of doing so ... and they are still a better deal than my biological family ever was. Since you've lived in both places for some periods of time, I gather. What is your take on which government is more corrupt?

  8.  @reggie5495  I don't like drones either. Most Filipinas have their own minds and are not drones by any stretch. Many of them just have different values from the West that align towards traditional gender roles. Of course, I can do (and did) everything on my own. It worked out just fine and was much cheaper. I was content staying that way, but I met a woman here in the Philippines who gave me cause to reconsider. To each their own. There is a LOT to be said for complete freedom to do whatever you want. I moved here to get away from the US culture that had diverged so far from my own values that I wanted to leave. The woman came afterwards.

  16.  @reggie5495  Ok, I understand where you're coming from. "Probably" is a good qualifier and you may be right. I think the waters get muddied a lot when it comes to either money or sex. If a man doesn't have the money, few women will want or stay with him. If the woman doesn't give it up, few men will want or stay with her. The West and its misandrist legal system has enabled women to massively exploit men in the money department, while at the same time consolidating an even tighter grip on the bedroom fun. It's logical for a Western man to very wary of providing anything for a woman. I know I was that way ... still am in some ways. The system is different here in the Philippines, as is the culture. Yeah, that's no guarantee and there are plenty of scammers and gold diggers around ... but ... the women cannot use the legal system to turn a man into a resource or annuity. If a man loses money, it's usually his fault and not at the whims of a judge. The man might go to jail if he does something bone headed though. It's not a total free ride ... just much better than the USA or West.

Of course, these statements are made with zero knowledge of the situation or relationship. To them, any man who brings finances to a relationship is automatically a simp. That's like saying any woman who brings cooch to a relationship is automatically a 304. Newsflash, women don't want a man who is a bum, anymore than men want a frigid woman. The problem occurs when a man leads with money or a woman leads with cooch. If you were burned in a relationship, I totally get it. Been there, done that. Learn from it and become wise. Don't let it turn you bitter. If what you learned made you decide to go it alone and you are happy, then more power to you. I also did that for many years. If you want to give good advice, by all means give it. But sitting on the sidelines and sniping at other men does no good.

At least the transaction favors the Western man more here. Also, not every man wants a career woman with a job. Plenty of those in the West who over nothing most men want.
