I went to West Point with McMaster and served alongside him as a junior officer. The depths to which he has sunk for personal gain both disappoints and disgusts me. He is not at all the man I knew in younger years.

@Fraser-369 I admired him a lot too back then. I was one cav troop over from him at 73 Easting. His unit bore the brunt and he performed brilliantly.

@S2PCatholic I have experienced exactly the same within my group of former Army peers. Even our reunion and email groups become their platforms for shrill, unhinged ranting about the evils of the far right and Orange Man (their exact words). No leftist caricature is too lame for them to embrace and promote. You don't even have to disagree with them for them to rain down wrath upon you. They will do this just for you remaining neutral. Everything and anything is a reason for them to attack you, if you do not enthusiastically push their same agenda. An agenda that consists entirely of leftist buzzwords with no explanations behind them. None of them were like this in younger years. Not even close. One was the top guy in my academy company academically. You wouldn't know it from his rants today. While I look at the and wonder what happened, they seem to look at me with intense hatred for not being like them. I haven't a clue what happened to them, but I stay away from most of them. One of my old platoon sergeants is like this, but he saved my bacon in the gulf ... so he gets a free pass from me listening to whatever he wants to rant about. I just nod and tell him, "Man, that sucks." None of my more right wing former peers behave like this, even the more pompous and arrogant ones.

@bigpardner I've often wondered that myself. His hair was already thinking in the early 90s as a captain, so I assume he's legitimately bald or close to it.
