  1. The "diverse finanical portfolio" analogy is so logically flawed that it borders on ludicrous. In a financial portfolio, you still make purchases of strong assets. You don't purchase weak ones because of some other trait they possess. This is what DEI does. If the DEI logic were applied to a "diverse" financial portfolio, it would be akin to saying you need one that starts with "A," another that starts with "B" ... but leave out any that start with "C" because there are already too many of those in the stock market. That is exactly how DEI does it, except using people's traits.
