Contrarian view: I think the Tories ran austerity for longer than was needed, but it was the right thing to do in 2010. Also was it really that bad when you consider is got us through the financial crisis. I also don't consider what Labour are doing now as austerity, this is going to be more about plugging a gap in the finances left by the Tories. It's an opportunity to realign society with the true costs of having the society we have now (A society for the most part I think the vast majority are happy with. It's not perfect, but it's pretty good for most people, and we are making slow gradual progress to a better society each and every generation.)
