  2. For balance, it's worth pointing out that Musk has said if there is a negative impact, then funding will be restored. The point of making the cuts is to find what is truly needed and what is a 'nice to have'. This is the fastest way to achieve this. If every cost center had to be reviewed before taking action then it would take years as there would be resistance and objections. This is a more efficient approach, even if in the short term it upsets a few people. Would love to do this with UK civil service too.
