  2. Don't be fooled by the money men saying things like "it can reason" or equating with "system 1 thinking". Bottom line, it's just math and algorithms and very large graph databases. It's not really about computer power, it's about high speed memory to hold these large mathematical models in memory as opposed to slow storage access. The model aren't getting "smarter", they are just getting bigger with more paths between nodes and more attributes on nodes.

  3. Comparing AI with mechanisation is misleading. With mechanisation we still had jobs to do. With Ai taking over cognitive jobs, what's left for the masses? Everyone can't be an inventor.

  4. When they say "developers building products using our APIs", in practice they majority are not building anything new, but merely using AI APIs to translate speech into clicking/tapping a button (that was already there) in the app.

  5. You don't need AI to do form filling. We could instead standardise on APIs and just use plain automation. Using AI to form fill is just laziness, expensive laziness given the energy use of AI. When AI is applied to form filling, it means we're being lazy about evolving our platforms and interfaces, it's putting a band aid over the problem.
