Very few westerners have been to Russia let alone lived in Russia or learned the language so what they imagine life is like in Russia is pure imagination. Even someone like Bald and Bankrupt who has lived in Russia, knows the language for the most part, even he has a lot of misconceptions more than most, it is easy to go to a shit area in Russia and romance with locals and rile them up to a cause about the Soviet Union but that does not show understanding of what life is like growing up and dealing with the realities in Russia.
