I don't think it's worth even trying appeasement see how Macron went to meet Putin multiple times before the Ukraine war started and I personally think that made Putin move even faster to invade Ukraine as it appeared to Putin that Europe is divided and weak as Macron said one thing, Biden said another, Germany said nothing, it looks really bad.
