I think having a Monarch in the Americas would have seriously aggravated the British to respond. It think they saw the Americas as a temporary experiment and perhaps thought it would fail and was not any competition for the British but that all changed in 1812 however between 1776 and 1812 those were critical years in building new nation and creating the culture and identity needed to fight off the British in 1812, if a Monarchy in the Americas lead to an earlier attempt to capture back the lands it is hard to predict what would have occurred.

I can trace my family tree almost 2.5 billion years to Zoltan himself, he personally told me as such. OK I am just joking but there is some strange history in my family I will not go in to details but it from Hungary, Germany and Russia, the medical condition is a caved chest due to some I guess inbreeding not sure but I really on purpose totally ignore this, life moves on.

If George Washington had gone in the path of Monarchy the British would have felt more compelled to fight back against this. The reason is that instead of a crazy experiment the British saw with the new collection of states form and thus perhaps thinking it would not last long, they would have actually seen a competitor rise, which it was, and see a more serious risk for the British territories to the north which eventually did happen in 1812 but that gap between 1776 and 1812 provided much needed time for the states to move on from the civil war and develop an identity, culture, system of governance, if the British saw right away in 1776 the rise of a new Monarchy they may have been more compelled to go to war sooner fearing risks to the northern territories.
