Nonsense. The west has no interest in liquidating bonds at the moment as it would then need to absorb the shortfall so a large drop in money or forced to auction off the equal amount in new bonds with both higher interest rates and pressure in the bond markets.... Yeah not going to happen. Maybe in a year or two form now when interest rates are falling and bond auctions are stable we shall see. Anyway, if you want to give Ukraine money there are better ways to do it then this complicated process, liquidating bonds, giving the payout to Ukraine but then having to auction off new bonds to make up for the shortfall in debts? That is just stupid.

@reggie69. Japan and China are not ditching anything they are selling bonds to fund their stimulus programs to save their economies, China just premised another 135 billion to save the housing market so that means either issuing new debt or selling assets.... That has nothing to do with faith in US bonds. Keep in mind that Japan has almost 2x more debt than US and China has at least the same debt as US so your conspiracy has no legs.
