Since the fighting came to a standstill almost all of the new fighting forces and equipment the Germans built was all sent to the west which lead to the battle of the bulge some 1 million fresh German solders. It was one of Germanys largest operations during the war so while it might look small it was a major operation and prevented the eastern front from getting proper reinforcements. Hitler thought he had more time but when he both lost his fresh fighting force to the western allies and the Soviets suddenly advanced from the east the war was in all essence signed and sealed.

  3. @bobux despacito You are 100% totally wrong and every single book of history of WW2 says you are wrong too! The USA lend lease included 400,000 trucks that allowed the Soviet to extend their supply lines many many many times further than they could without it. The American trucks allowed the Soviets to keep the pressure and prevent the Germans from regrouping all the way to Poland which if given time would have allowed the Germans to put up a proper defense but the American trucks denied Germany that ability which totally crushed the Germans time after time. Keep in mind the American trucks also delivered airplane fuel to allow the Russian air force to keep pushing the Germans back for hundreds of miles, none of this could be done without it.

Keep in mind that the Americans sent the Soviets some 400,000 trucks which allowed the Soviets to push all the way from Russia to Warsaw without stopping and this prevented the Germans from regrouping and counter attacking. The Americans played a major part in the very long supply lines of the Soviets which is not to be underestimated how critical this was and how it prevented the Germans any chance to counter attack.

  5. The Americans had to wait for the British to push north to cover the flanks but they also were not going to enter Berlin before the Soviets and betray the agreements. Keep in mind that the Americans realized the risk that if they entered Berlin before the Soviets and break the agreements that the Soviets would probably take payback by invading Japan. The Soviets did prepare to invade anyway which is one of the reasons the USA pushed hard to end the war, they feared that the Soviets would split Japan in 2 like Europe.
