Yeah some Canadians for sure justifiably will not buy USA made goods at least until there is a proper resolution to this madness so it will impact trade - we will see in coming months and quarters what the impact is. I assume some Canadian companies will also seek to diversify away from USA sources but some might instead order more to have backup goods inside Canada, so hard to know what the impact will be, we'll see in the coming months. As an American who live in Seattle and I visit Canada pretty often - this all is a terrible clown show how Trump is acting - 200 yeas of relations flushed down the toilet for what reason? Nothing, just fake claims, there are more illegals and drugs going from USA in to Canada than the other way around. Terrible. Any Canadian that stops buying American goods is 100% justified and I myself in the USA will make an effort to buy more Canadian made goods. I might even do my shopping in Canada on my next visit, why not?

@ But that means US exporters lose customers as American products and services get more expensive fro Canadians - the USA loses exports which is bad for US companies.

Yeah sounds like it. But Temu was preparing for this with their "LOCAL" option you can order from local sellers inside the USA the only problem is they charge $2.99 shipping if the items are under $30 order but only from the 1 seller which can be hard as you want items from different sellers most cases - so a bit of a problem

When a package enters the USA the customer will have to pay 10% tax, this is done all over the world mostly in Europe but the process of managing the tax is so expensive that the tax end up just going to the cost of managing the tax system itself, the workers managing it so it's an expensive way to add get more people working I guess? It will probably have to be done in Los Angeles so manpower is expensive there too. Most packages enter the USA at LAX in Los Angeles if by Air Cargo or the Long Beach Ports if by container ship, so either way not cheap. It will be good for Los Angeles's economy I guess which is funny as most people there voted against Trump LOL

You also get a lot of packages on Amazon that are direct from China so also Amazon is impacted but TEMU also offers at least in the USA there is Temu LOCAL where it uses internal USA logistics so packages can arrive faster. The only issue is you need to have $30 order from each seller or pay $3 for the delivery, but it can be hard as each seller only has so much stuff and you cannot cross between sellers. TEMU needs to set up some logistics hubs so they can combine goods together but that would raise the prices I imagine.

Dose SHEIN offer local delivery from local sellers? TEMU has been doing that for a few months now so that avoids these import issues. Only problem is that the order has to be $30 or you pay $3 shopping fee which is a problem as some sellers only have few items.
