Wow that is crazy! In the USA only around 2% of cars on the road are EV in China it is around 6% and Germany around 5% so for a country to hit 50% in a few years from now is really decades ahead. We need to break this link to oil for the consumer which will reduce this heavy impact of oil prices. Imagine how much oil the USA could export to the world if it switched to EVs in large scale, it would have the cash in the bank as much as Saudi Arabia. Massive loss not jumping for EVs at full force.

@logitech4873 thanks for the correction. It is still an amazing achievement.

@RandomYoutuber234 There is also less waste, a car engine wastes a TON of oil as the efficiency is very low just think of all the times you were driving fast and had to slow down for traffic, lights, any reason = energy that is totally wasted. On EV when you slow down there is no loss as your breaks re-generate the power back to the battery, And when you burn oil/gas in a large power plant it is almost 100% efficient, all of the oil that is burnt produces power unlike a car that has major waste. .

I think you are confusing the new cars sold VS all the cars on the road. Norway will by 2026 have 50% of all the cars already on the road will be EVs. In Germany right now it is only 5% in USA 2% in China 6% so Norway is many many decades ahead, very cool.
