It is not very nice to hijack someone else's comment I will just have you know that the USA is a very big country and only a small part of the USA actually has a local Police force and so many areas of the USA can be a bit lawless or permit organized crime to operate freely which links American cities directly with the drug networks of Mexico and South American countries. This is a very unique situation and is nowhere to be found in Europe. A lawless Narco-state on the border, large land area that is nearly impossible to enforce laws and prevent illegal activity, a similar situation in Brazil. Keep in mind that in the USA there are 239 Police for every 100,000 people while in Germany it is 336 and in France 442 so the USA just has a lack of Police due to the size of the country and the idea of limited Government power which is part of the Public vs Private discussion as TIK discussed in the video. Here in the USA there is the idea of accountability of the Public to the Private citizen which is why Americans vote for local Judges instead of appointment from above as is common in Europe. Also, the USA is a Republic and so local changes are voted on by the local population, sure, sometimes it can be petty like the lighting on my street was polled if it should be converted to LED or not and what color, white or yellow light but this is part of being in a Republic and accountability for the Public/Government. For example many USA states wanted to legalize Weed and so state by state the Private citizens ordered a Vote regardless of the wishes of the State/Public voted in to place a law to legalize Weed based from the power of the Private person voting for it to be so. This is the balance of Power in the USA as a fully functioning Republic via Democratic system, as in: the majority wins the Republic vote. This is 2 systems working together for the better of society with no Politics or Politicians involved at all. What we call "We the People" we have the power to change the laws.

  5.  @midwestreview6382  They did not invade in winter they invaded in June which is the start of summer. They went in thinking it would be a quick war and that they would win the war before winter but that did not happen at all. Russia did not fall apart or surrender and Germany got stuck and had to keep fighting for years to come. The winter was only part of the problem but not all of it. Putin made the same mistake invading Ukraine and now the Russian army full of recruits with no winter gear is about to face a Russian winter on the field unprepared for a disaster.

  6. Except that Germany did not exist until the defeat of Napoleon III and the unifications of Germany in 1871. Germany is a pretty new country or idea. Germanic people were mostly tribal living in small villages under various rulers and houses. Both England and Germany unified their existing lands and people but very different periods of time in history. Just an interesting note.

  11. @3:30 I think Churchill like other good leaders saw long term future and so he realized that once all nations of Europe fell to Germany including the USSR and Brittan then Hitler would not sit on idle hands, he would invade Scandinavia, Switzerland and all other neutral territory. Churchill as such was saying that Brittan was fighting for the independence of Scandinavia even though Scandinavia was not helping at all and in fact was working with Germany and exporting war materials and as such against their own future. This proved true in Norway not long after. When you bow to a tyrant eventually you will fight him too but on his terms.

  13. The USA had massive dealings with Nazi Germany prior to WW2 and Germany went on a large spending during their pre-war mobilization which lead to large amount of business. The list of American companies involved with Germany under Hitler was absolutely massive and lead to very friendly relations and open love affair between the countries from Politicians, business, media and the public even though there were signs of problems due to the treatment of Jews in Germany it was not enough to end the relations. Germany had financed fancy state of the art cruise liners, Zeppelins all for US-German relations and both countries were overall very friendly such as cruise ships until the declaration of war.

Germany wanted to re-unite it's empire and take back lands lost from WW1, however UK, France and Poland had a 3 pact agreement that if any one of them is attacked then they would all declare war on the enemy. This set Germany in to a situation where it was going to fight on 2 fronts if it wanted to push east or west. Poland was invaded by Germany and France had a small scale invasion of Germany due to the agreement although it was mostly symbolic. Did Germany need to push west? Well, there are other reasons too, Germany wanted to reach the Mediterranean sea through land by France due to the British naval blockade of German waters. Germany was also under racist ideology that German people were superior to all other races so they wanted to reunite German people, including those living in France and Belgium.

The racist world views and the desire for world conquest and the need to find someone to blame for bad economic times, was not started by Hitter but it was a large part of the German public. Hitler galvanized Germans and forced his way but the German public greeted Hitler with open arms and this is why the population of Germany was just as much to blame as Hitler himself. I also today blame the people people of Russia for the actions of Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin. I also blame the people of China for the actions of Xi Jinping.   20. Chamberlin saved Hitler out of fear of war and wanting to avoid it but as a result of giving in, he only delayed war and created apatite for war by Hitler. Sometimes peace requires threats and not backing down which is the American policy today on Ukraine. Russia claims that eastern Ukraine belongs to Russia due to ethnicity of people living there but that is not much different than Hitler claims for Czechoslovakia in 1938 that German nationals living there should be in Germany. Does France demand lands be handed over of parts of Belgaum that speak French and are of French Heritage? NO! France would never ever demand to take control of that land, the world is different today countries are made of many cultures and no one country can demand control of land due to the ethnicity of people living there. There are Hungarians in Ukraine, is Hungary demanding those lands be handed over? NO. Does Germany demand land with German nationals be handed back from Poland? NO! The world does not work like this in 2021 but Putin thinks it does and that is very backwards thinking. Crimea was a step back in to old world thinking and the west is holding firm against Putin and keeping him accountable for that action and never negotiate with such a person. The west standing up to Putin will prevent future war in Europe. I have no doubt if the west would sign a paper allowing Putin to take eastern Ukraine, that would lead to unstoppable apatite by the Russian army leadership for more and more war. For the safety of all of Europe and Russia as well the west must never back down to Putin.

  23. ​ @FairladyS130  Well the US had no land based enemies so did not invest in to developing tanks until WW2 was brewing. Chrysler built the Detroit Arsenal factory for the US Government and operated it and the first product was the Grant tank and just like any first product from a new factory and company it was more of a learning process I guess but the same factory went on to build most of the US tanks including the Sherman and Abrams.

  25. Germany used un-sustainable methods of great abuse to get as far as they did, slave labor, theft from occupied countries etc, this works but for how long? These method are temporary. This is the same lesson to be learned today from Russian war in Ukraine you can see how Russia has run out of gear, men and logistics failures very similar to Germany in WW2. It is amazing that in 2022 it is possible to repeat errors from 70 years ago but Russia is not a country that likes to question itself and audit itself so not a surprise it is repeating mistakes from the past and now has a totally broken army. Russia is lucky that a large invader is not going to attack it because Russia would have nothing to stop them except nuclear weapons.

  26. The German army had such tunnel vision around Stalingrad that it went blind. They poured in the entire army without any real staging, just a few depots, logistics and communication hubs which the command fell back to in the early retreat. This is simply not how you win a war and this was going on for months so it s not like they had reached Stalingrad they had months to build regional control, they were so stead fast on moving forward they lose control of the area of operations.

  29. Stalingrad proves that the Wehrmacht was fully engulfed in Nazism and was indeed a culprit to the psyche of a false destiny. Instead of accepting the opponents success and dealing with a changing strategy on the ground, the Wehrmacht thought that they were Superior and so given time or resources would defeat the Soviets eventually. I think the Nazi psychology played a major role in the attrition that the Wehrmacht accepted upon itself.

Putin is very much like Hitler, a one man show, a nationalist with grand views of his country but not the people in it, sending them off to war with little regard, and using the financial system as his tool, Putin too is destroying his own economy with a flare of socialism and a heavily manipulated Capitalist system just like Hitler. The only difference is the level of greed and corruption in Russia is much higher than Germany under Hitler but Putin may end up cleaning up the act now that Russia is disconnected from the west and so the desires in life of the elite in Russia has changed, they either left Russia or those that stayed in Russia have no longer a reason to care about their wealth outside of Russia as it will just get confiscated so they have become entranced just like the companies on Germany under Hitler. It will take some years but Russia I think is going down the path of Hitler and Nazi Germany. Using the idea of reunification of the Germanic people or Slavic/Russian people, same excuse and ideology to grab territory, land and money.

I have a feeling that Hitler and Putin would have gotten along too, Putin demanding to unite Russian speaking/Slavic people from his sovereign neighbors in Georgia and Ukraine and Moldova is very similar to Hitler's quest to unify German people of Denmark, Czechia, Poland, Austria against their will.

If Jews did have their own country like they do today, would he have murdered 6 million Jews? It's hard to know. It was all in one man's head... However, he did like Nationalistic world leaders that only cared about their own country like Mussolini and the Ottoman's so I am sure he would have also been close to Putin regardless of genetics.... Hitler was a racist but the race was based on his view of the people in power representing the race at the time.

  35. The problem with Socialism more than any of it's endless list of flaws is that simply it cannot adapt to the cyclical nature of humanity. There are always cycles to society, world economy and order and Socialism is simply unable to adapt to these changes, Governments can NEVER reduce their size only grow larger and larger, by it's most fundamental form, Socialism is unable to shrink. Capitalism, companies, private pocket books can all shirk during hard times and reduce expense, to pay off debts to leverage against increase risks in the environment but Socialism can do NONE of this. This is why the Soviet Union collapsed it could not shrink during a global recession that occurred in 1990 and lost control and collapsed. Recessions occur to Communist nations, Socialist nations it is a human nature and unless the system of state can adjust then it will fail too. Capitalism will force bad preforming companies, stores and individuals to fail and make way for new development or people with opportunities to expand in their place, Socialism offers none of this, it is inflexible dead end and will eventually fail. Every country that boasts about Socialist programs is funding them using Capitalist systems or else it would end up like Venezuela and that could still happen in the future. Unfunded Social programs are stifling western economies and could in the future risk global stability and economies once again due to the failures of Social programs inability to shrink their sizes to account for a changing human environment.

  36. He already was inflating German economy greatly before the war to support the living standards he wanted for his people. You can eradicate poverty and unemployment which he did but at the cost of unsupported debt so money was printed. The dangerous thing is that most countries in the world are doing this today in 2021 especially China who wants to maintain social harmony so the desire to keep living standards high at all costs is very dangerous.

  37. I agree with all of your videos except this one. The USA was the only industrial country unaffected by WW2 and so while GDP fell due Congress doing the usual and cut spending drastically and hard and fast leading to many factories closing these were offset by very very large demand for goods from all over the world and American made products using skilled labor who were trained in new skills during WW2 as well as new factories that were privatized and sold off after the war, became a large success one of which is local to me which is Boeing and yes today in 2022 they are very much so still using the same buildings which were built for WW2 so I have to strongly disagree that war is a waste of resources, it did a great positive impact on the USA that is still paying dividends in 2022. WW2 lead to hundreds of new American companies, a new military industry which ha sold military equipment all over the world for massive profits and more so now then ever before as countries around the world arm themselves to new threats. The USA gained skilled labor, sell of weapons, new companies, privatized new industry and global trade thanks to WW2, yes War is GOOD for the winner.

  41. People commenting don't understand that crude oil MUST be processed within 90 days today and probably a lot shorter in the 1930s and 40s perhaps just a few days. It is simply unrealistic on all levels to ship oil to Germany for processing from the middle east.

Religion does not tell you what job to do, it does not make you a salve, it creates structures of society, to try and make you a good quality person, upcasting person in society, it creates a system to fight crime and legal structure before modern legal systems existed and it creates a community so people feel united together, to make friends and prevent fights and disagreements. Religion is a tool for creating a community, today maybe we replaced it with the internet but people who are on the internet allot tend to lack in person community and so religion is still a strong option for meeting good, quality people, making friends and so on by going to Church.

People lack community so religion creates the structure for it but does not mean you need to believe in it

It's important to note that the German Nuclear program was a small groups and overall a pieced together project so even if they were successful in their testing they had no structure, resources, manpower, facilities or capacity to go much further, the Manhattan project was slower, more methodical but was on a totally different level and as a result was able to quickly scale up. They even built for this project the world's largest building which held that title until it was demolished in 2006!! The US program cost around 2 billion dollars in today's money, the German effort is estimated around 2 million dollars in todays money, as well as having a minor fraction of the resources needed, thankfully.

  50. This discussion thread is pretty idiotic, Japan had no Navy, had a totally grounded Air Force, had limited resources left and were surrounded on all sides. The allies flattened Tokyo doing more damage than the nuclear bombs did anyway and Japan did not surrender just like Nazi Germany had been brainwashed to fight to the very end by their doctrine. To make matters worse, the Soviets had declared war on Japan and let the allies know they were planning an invasion of their own and would have probably ended up splitting Japan in half by the end of a ground offensive from both sides. This forced the USA to act fast and prevent this cataclysmic loss of life and Soviet interference so the nuclear bombs were dropped. The USA was not lying about having more nuclear weapons as they quickly had 7 more a few months later, the speed of building the nukes was very fast at that point in the world's largest factory that still had that title when it was imploded in 2006. By 1950 the UAS had around 300 nukes but the world view changed and the USA did not use these weapons in the Korean war for example.
