Thank you that was a great article! Very good and clear articulation of the reality on the ground. The Baltics clearly were captured from the west by the Soviets long before WW2. The Soviets always planned to move west it was just sheer chance that Germany under it's own madman wanted to move east at the same time. Today we are back at the situation before the Soviets moved west, where Russia has it's old world borders and once again wants to move west. This time we thankfully do not have some madman in Germany but we still need to hold Russia back at the gates, how do we do that is the question? Not just today but for as long as needed. I assume MAD is part of the answer but ideological unity in the west is just as critical to not fall pray to Russia's old world dusted off grand plans for it's future.
