China has many deep and serious issues #1 The housing crisis that keeps hitting a pause but then resuming the downturn. #2 A lack of messaging from the Chinese Government, it is very silent and not forth coming. It almost appears dysfunctional. #3. Global rising interest rates and taxes are of course reducing spending dramatically and if the world enters a wave of recessions it could cut spending even further. #4 Rising costs and risks of doing business in China. So far the Chinese Government has not done much to counter this issue so it may not even want to perhaps?

No a country is not a company, it takes tax money which is not selling ANY product or service directly and re-distributes it to things no single person can do like build a highway, a new bridge, or fund industry like solar panels, so no governments are not companies. When you need help to buy food and the government gives out food stamps, it is not getting anything in reutrn so no it is not a company.

  8. BRICS is a TOTAL joke because it's entire foundation depends on India and China buying resources from other BRICS members to produce goods to sell to the West. So if you are going to reduce the value of the EURO and DOLLAR now China and India no longer need the resources they planned to use BRICS currency to purchase!! You see the problem with BRICS? It's a cat chasing it's own tail. You only need it in order to make goods to sell to the west. China needs oil and resources if it is going to make goods for the west otherwise it has no use for those resources. It's all a silly game.

Ehhhh the bank can lend out the money with fractional banking but when a loan is created the bank gets massive interest payments with the high rates today and also of course has ownership claim over the asset so really the bank is fucking set. High interest is great for banks as long as customers can pay and so far default rates are pretty low.

My parents were told what job to do they we had to share an apartment with another family. We had no freedom, no individualism, no rights, no security and our authority was dictated to us by the smart guys in gray suits because they bullied their way in to power. We had very little food and no luxury in life becasue no one has incentive to work hard as they don't get to benefit from working hard, life was great. I think we should have this in the USA. Hello???? Anybody home? Come one.... really? What is this????? Rates were rising and banks were unable to adjust leading to flight of money out of banks this is why banks saw flight of deposits but it is not like the Great Depression as banks adjusted and now they offer CDs with similar rates while Treasuries are overall on the short end of the yield curve. In addition the FED REPO market may also be counted in M2 money supply which was strategically drained in to Treasuries by the FED.

The problem here is the same game has already played out in 2011 as the price of Gold / Silver skyrocketed as people startled to accumulate excess wealth 3 years after 2008 but still worried about the economy they bought in, the same once again we are 3 years after a major event this time being COVID, 3 years later we get a potential Gold boom. However after 2011 spike in gold and sliver 2013 saw a major crash in values as confidence returned to the economy people sold off looking for better returns elsewhere and this potentially could play out once more, just a wild guess in 2026?

Keep in mind that a large part 7 trillion is intergovernmental debt like the 2.8 trillion Social Security cash stack that is all just hanging in Treasuries, maybe it would have been smarter to use the Governments 7 trillion cash as a Sovereign Wealth Fund rather then lock it all up in to Treasuries but it is what it is... So in the end it's 25 trillion excluding intergovernmental and of that a large chunk is the FED, it's not even close to 100% debt to GDP. Also the USA has low taxes I am paying 15% that is low you can raise my taxes to 20% and I will have no issues with that, still way lower than Europe by a far. The USA wants growth and higher GDP so taxes are left low but then you need to decide a good balance between national debt and tax rates

The sanctions only just came in to power so the current generation of technology for sure will be easy for China to produce but the next generation that is probably the goal of the sanctions to prevent next generation and beyond of reaching China.

  41. Powell himself said that reducing hiring alone, and reducing open positions, is enough for the FED. He said it himself multiple times. The FED did not create unemployment in 2006 and 2007 when they played their cycle It was only the run away economy in 2008-2010 when US unemployment went crazy but there is no promise that is coming. Right now the American people are sitting on a record 20.8 trillion in liquid cash when before COVID it was around 15.5 Trillion so a TON of money is going around and that 2% rate first of all only impacts people who take out loans and second it is very low at 2% when you have so much money in peoples pockets.

His views are solid except perhaps he is not counting that housing is 40% of CPI and that may fall pretty hard this winter and will counter the impact of oil prices. Overall the FED is no rushing anywhere they are WELL aware of the 1973-1974 mistake and the 1980s mistake as well so they will be slow to move but like he predicts that could play out in the stock markets differently then how we might think it will.

  52. This is not how the Business cycle works, you need Americans and the world to become exhausted, stretched financially and psychologically and in my view we are not there by a BILLION miles. Americans have pulled back from a rebound after COVID, this is NOT a turn down, it does not work that way. Sure maybe the US stock market has a big sell off at some point this year and even the economy can get ugly but this is just a mini cycle, I call it a cycle within a cycle. The US Economy is just getting started on a very long path with major new innovations boiling up under the surface that are about to blast though in a force the world has NEVER NEVEEERRRR seen before. There is so much coming soon that any cycle we face is just my time to buy more. I am a buyer!!! If I saw the signs of the USA and the world being in exhaustion I would have sold out long ago and it would be very obvious. Americans are sitting on massive asset wealth, wages are up since 2019 like no tomorrow and if someone can't afford they don't spend. Americans take out new debt when they are confident, rising debt = confidence, when do Americans pay off debt? 2008, 2020. Is 2024 on that list?   54. The reason for Low Interest rates is due to Low Inflation. The reason for that is Free Trade with China that Bill Clinton signed in to law in 1997. As a result the FED had to lower interest rates to combat low inflation. Simple. You want a solution, end trade with China. That's your solution. The Dollar value is being manipulated by China as the country is flooded with cheap goods which reduces the value of the Dollar. The day that trade with China comes to an end is the day that the true value of the Dollar begins its major correction upwards.

  58. You are wrong, money is not printed, it is issued in the form of Treasuries that has a return on investment. Keep in mind that these are for a set time period you can buy them for 6 months, 1 year, 10 years whatever length so they expire/mature and then the debt is gone and money returned to the buyer. The USA will then have to issue a new bond to get that money back in the coffers and so you can get stuck in a loop. However the USA has 2 things going well, #1 tax rates are low in the USA I am paying 15% tax while if I lived in Europe I would be paying 30% to 35% tax so the USA can easily double the tax rate and pay off the debt if it wanted to but then I would have less cash to buy stuff so the economy would slow down. AND #2 the USA has some 7 trillion debt that it actually is a net cash positive balance as the USA is pretty damn rich, for example Social Security has 3 trillion of net positive cash and it keeps that cash pile growing by buying Govnemrent Treasuries so in effect the USA is using it's positive cash of 7 trillion to buy its own debt so you got to exclude that out. The USA actual NON-governmental debt is around 25 trillion that is still a shit ton of debt but smaller then you think.

The stimulus, the trillions in the pockets of the system the M2 and the record high Government debt and the rating downgrade it is all shows the transfer of burden from one side to the other. Well the US debt is not as bad as it seems, some 7 trillion of it is internal inside the US Government and another 5 trillion is the FED which returns the interest back to the Treasury so it is basically debt at little cost. So around 12 trillion total is just accounting games as the interest is inside the US Government, the other 23 trillion is real debt and the interest is paid out but that is BELOW the US GDP so yeah, it's too much but nothing crazy

  72.  @mustbtrouble  That is not possible here in WA state the poverty line is 14500 a year but working at walmart the minimum for food stamps 30 hours a week and minimum wage is around $16 (although I think walmart pays more) anyway using $16 it comes to around $22,000 a year so above the food stamps requirement. Maybe there is a way to get it when working under 30 hours but I am not sure.

USA is doing very well, most states have very low debt levels to income and USA income taxes are pretty low around 14% is the average and only the national debt of the Federal Gov is high but that can be solved over time. In Europe for example most Governments have high debt, high regional debt within the country and high taxes so not much room to breath which is why Europe had a Sovern debt crisis some years ago and had to bail out EU countries. China has very high state/local debt just massive out of the world, the central government has on paper low debt but its hard to know if it is hiding it or honest but the income tax level is pretty low around 12% similar to the USA. So both China and USA can raise taxes worst case to close any debt problems. Europe cannot do that and most of the world cannot as taxes are just too high already and people will just stop paying.

The USA was cheap for many decades because it had land to expand but today many US cities have no more land and so now prices are actually NORMAL. You can cheat the system and go buy a house in a city that still has plentiful land or just go live in rural areas Oklahoma, Kansas, Alabama, the US is full of cheap places to live. Anywhere in the world in history cities are EXPENSIVE. It is the nature of cities. It is a luxury.
