I wouldn't want to give up my EU passport. It's good to belong to a community where you can just jump from one country to the other without any visa or anything else and where airfare are so affordable. Round trip ticket Lisbon, PT. to Nice, FR. : 38 Euros non stop flight |! With a common strong currency, it's easy to also travel and have some decent vacation outside the EU (of course maybe not during a pandemic but usually it is). It's good to know that if one of the EU country is attacked, the rest of the Eu will come and fight with you. It's good to be able to buy cheap and tasty food compared to many other countries like Canada, USA, and Panama or whatever... It feels good to be able to drink some good wine without breaking our budget like many do in Canada since alcohol is so expensive (and not even that good there). It's good to have so many different cultures in the same continent. Each country has its own charm. It's good to enjoy being a French citizen who resides outside France and not have to pay taxes at all. Many things remain good in Europe. Of course, it's far from being the perfect place on earth but there is much worse. Look at Ukraine for instance or Afghanistan.

No don't do that. It's one of the poorest countries in Europe and now with all the Ukrainian refugees, it's getting worse.

True. You freeze in Portuguese houses in the winter since they are not isolated at all and it's so cold inside and the energy cost is very high. However, if you don't have to work, food is quite good and very cheap. The air quality is also good and of course they have 3 major international airports to escape ! If I were in my 20s or 30s, I would definitely not chose Portugal as the salaries are so low and taxes on everything quite high but if you made your money somewhere else, then life is ok in Portugal.

Take the Italian citizenship and live in a different country in Europe, you won't have to pay the high Italian taxes if you don't live there but you will benefit from all the European advantages. Cheap food, cheap travel, cheap wine, and so on....Many Italians live outside Italy.

Yes many Americans just want to take advantage of free health care system in many of the European countries !

Yes and if Zelensky stopped provoking Putin all the time. If Ukraine gives up Donbass, the war if over. What doesn't Zelensky agree to do it instead of having more and more blood on his hands.
