  1. Why is Olivia Chow so mean ? Instead of being so xenophobic and obsessed about increasing the vacancy tax to 3% on their property assessed value, to those poor foreigners who obviously can't stay in the country all year long and use it as a second residence, just like everybody else in the world, why doesn't she tax the real CANADIAN SPECULATORS who collect condos and properties and buy them to resale them hundreds of thousands dollars more the following year or a couple of years later ? That would definitely bring more revenues to the city. Why don't politicians tax Canadians on their principal residence if they own it for less than 3 years at 50% tax rate on the capital gain ? Because that's pure speculation, nothing else. Canadians are the ones who have destroyed the real estate market, not foreigners. I really don't understand this hate towards foreigners who just want to enjoy being in Canada when they can. Hopefully, the world will retaliate and tax Canadians when they buy properties abroad so they will know how it feels to be discriminated like Canadian politicians do. Banning foreigners from Canadian real estate market is not the answer to all the problems created by Canadians themselves and especially politicians !!! Anyway I hope Canadians won't complain when they see their economy dying just like their real estate market because with such bad karma, that's all they deserve ! Once you have created such a bad reputation for yourself, there is no coming back.
