Allow me to add a detail that is not highlighted usually. Prince Andrew is named after his grandfather Prince Andreas of Greece. Prince Andreas was a notoriously ridiculous figure, absolutely incompetent, a coward and on top of that a war criminal. During the Greek -Turkish war after WWI, he was known among his troops as ''the Hut Burner''. You see his ''hobby'' was to order the torching of small insignificant Turkish hamlets. This off course on top of the misery it cause to just a bunch of peasants, once the Greek troops moved to another location, the Turks exacted vengeance on the local Greek villages, creating a snowball of retributions and barbarity. After the disasterous end of the campaign, solely because his family were a bunch of inbred idiots that never listened to anyone and over extended their line to the point of collapsing when the tables were turned, Prince Andrew was corp marshaled along other high ranking officers, and condemned to be shot by a fire squad for incompetence and cowardice. At that point the British Crown intervened to save their inbred relation and his sentence was commuted to life long exile.
He continue his life as a useless wastrel, spending money he did not have, acting like a playboy gambler while abandoning his family and his wife, who actually was the only decent person in that nest of idiots along with his brother Alexandros. This is the reason held a grudge against Greece. First because his royal ''right'' was denied and secondly because he believed that his father was wronged and that resulted to his broken family. The truth is that Andreas was bad news from the beginning and as it looks Andrew did not fall a long way from the family tree.
